The seventies architecture of this hotel needed a desperate facelift. The project was handed over to me in 2004. I wanted to work with a classic detail but I also wanted to retain an Indian flavour and give it a contemporary edge. The glamorous lobby with its gold leafed coffered ceilings and seating with the Indian paisley motif is set off with dramatic art.
